The collection consists of three scrapbooks and various materials relating to the Daniels family of Rapid City and Mitchell. The Daniels family members included Herbert Scott Daniels and his wife Ella M. (Vickers) along with two sons Herbert, Jr. and Donald. Herbert went to high school in Mitchell, SD and he and his wife later moved to Rapid City in 1910. Mr. Daniels was part owner in the Davis & Daniels Lumber Yard and later owner of the H. S. Daniels Lumber Yard in Rapid City. He is also known as the designer of several “Daniels Built Homes” in Rapid City. Most of the images in the scrapbook are of family members. Included are images of Mitchell and Rapid City.
