Content Description

The collection consists of various materials transferred from the Moody County Historical Society. Most of the items were added to either the Vertical File or Biographical File collections. Books were also offered to the library. The below items were accessioned into the collection. The collection includes a 1962 map of South Dakota Angus Association members. The map lists 111 Angus breeders and their locations throughout the state. Also included is a color photograph of the church ruins at Fort Randall taken in 1957 and two postcards titled, “Sioux’s Bungalow” and “Sioux Family Tepee.” The collection also includes pencil sketch drawings (and photocopies) done by students at the Flandreau Indian School. The items belonged to Hosea Locke who was a reverend/teacher at the Flandreau Indian School in its early days. The sketches include the name and age of the students who drew them.
