The collection consists of nineteen black and white snapshot photographs. Ivan and Pearl (Barrett) Hoy grew up in South Dakota, with Ivan attending High School in Redfield. Both attended Northern State Teachers College in Aberdeen and taught at White Butte in Perkins County. Ivan and Pearl were married on May 31, 1928. Most of the images are snapshots of individuals, with photos being identified by first names only, or by their association with Ivan. Identified places of importance include: Slim Buttes, bridge at Mobridge, Redfield Depot, Redfield Basketball team 1923, and a photo of the town of White Butte.
