The collection consists of various items relating to Arthur Elwin Hall. Hall was born in 1883 and raised in Rapid City (S.D.). He graduated from the South Dakota School of Mines in 1904. He was a mining engineer from 1904 until his death in September 1963. The collection includes a copy of Mr. Hall’s marriage license (to Cora A Price); the May 1924 issues of “The Black Hills Engineer” dedicated to Arthur E. Hall, head of the Omaha metal refinery of the American Smelting and Refining Company; November-December issue of “The Hardrock” with a memorial write-up on Mr. Hall, and a 1933 patent for the Metal Refining Process number 1938101. Also included are letters concerning family history and early history of Rapid City (S.D.).
