Scope and Contents
This collection consists of loyalty oaths signed by employees of the Sioux Falls Independent School District No. 1 from 1970 through 1974.
As per Article 3 section 8 of the State Constitution, teachers were required to sign loyalty oaths to support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of South Dakota. The employees also will not join a political party or organization that advocates for the overthrow of the government.
