Scope and Contents

This series contains records from various schools in Tripp County. Clerk and Treasurer Reports make up a large percentage of the records in this series and are filed chronologically. In most years between 1920-1938 clerk and treasurer annual reports were filed separately but beginning in 1939 they were filed together. There are a large number of records regarding the reorganization of school districts and redrawing of boundaries beginning in the 1910s including petitions, poll books and directives. Also documented within this collection are state and federal aid applications and information, various school board election and oath records and evaluations of school property and land holdings. Restricted materials within this series include personnel records, medical and mental health correspondence and records and school censuses and graduation recommendations.

Access to Daily Attendance Books and Certificate Registers is partially restricted pursuant to SDCL 1-27-1.5(1),(10), (19) and FERPA. Access to mentally handicapped health records of students is restricted pursuant to SDCLE 26-6-20. Public access records containing social security numbers and other personally identifying codes and numbers is restricted pursuant to SDCL 1-27-1.5
