Scope and Contents

This series consists of maps of local districts, showing block number breakdown and computer printouts enumerating all persons under 21 years of age residing in that local district. The printouts provide the following details for each child: name of child and parent or guardian; address; sex; date of birth; district, block and school number; grade in school; and state in which the child was born. Also includes correspondence and school district staff notes.

School census records containing student birth dates are restricted from public access pursuant to SDCL 1-27-1.5 and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
