Scope and Contents
This series contains school census records for Haakon County school districts from 1931 through 1970. Records list the names of students enrolled in the school district along with their ages, attendance, and grades for the term. Sometimes additional information is included about the school district, such as total numbers of students, class subjects, and schedules.

Restrictions
Records containing student grades are restricted from public access pursuant to SDCL 1-27-1.5 and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). These records may only be viewed by the students themselves or their descendants. Archives staff may make redacted copies of the documents for specific years and/or districts if needed.
