Scope and Contents
Title I of the Federal Higher Education Act of 1965 appropriated money for grants to strengthen community service and continuing education programs at colleges and universities. In South Dakota, these funds were administered through the Department of Education and Cultural Affairs Planning Commission and the Continuing Education office. This series contains the Title I project files created and maintained by those entities. Project files include Title I project proposals, certifications, related correspondence and final reports. Also included are files on Title I resources and projects from other states.
