Audio Recordings, 1984 - 1993
Scope and Contents
Consists of cassette and 1/4 inch reel-to-reel audiotapes containing recordings of live performances by and interviews with folk artists recorded between 1984 and 1993. Many of the interviews were conducted during site visits made by the Folk Arts Coordinator as part of the Traditional Folk Arts Apprenticeship Program funded by grants from the National Endowment for the Arts. Folk arts discussed in the interviews include beadwork, blacksmithing, quillwork, regalia, dance, Wycinanki, weaving, tatting, quilting, and storytelling. Live performances include several recordings captured on the storytelling stage of the 1989 Centennial Folk Festival.
