Scope and Contents
Contains records from two federal grant-funded state-wide elementary and secondary education initiatives carried out between 1975 and 1984: Developing Basic Skills in the Schools, a collaborative model for integrating basic skills throughout the curriculum, and the South Dakota Right-to-Read Leadership and Training Project to improve literacy throughout the state. Records include program proposals and timelines, budget proposals, needs assessment overviews, reading standards summaries, implementation guides, proposal review process guidelines, performance reports, project third party evaluations, State Right-to-Read Advisory Council meeting minutes, memoranda and correspondence, and federal assistance applications.
