Scope and Contents
This series contains fisheries and Missouri River impoundments files, created by and for the Department of Game, Fish and Parks, with files ranging from 1949 to 1964, mainly regarding construction, fishing, and development of the Oahe, Big Bend, Ft. Randall and Gavins Point Dams and Reservoirs. These files consists of reports, maps, correspondence, memorandum, statistics and population studies by the South Dakota Department of Game, Fish and Parks, and federal organizations like the U.S. Corps of Engineers and the Department of the Interior. As well, the series contains 1956 and 1957 handwritten records, potentially written by Robert L. Hanten, regarding traffic and fishing-related statistics such as Age-Growth and Netting Data of Gavins Point, Ft. Randall, and Wheeler.

Restrictions
Public access to construction plans, blue prints, and infrastructure records is restricted pursuant to SDCL 1-27-1.5(8). Two folders contain blueprints that reveal infrastructure details.
