This series contains records on a variety of subjects that were received and filed in the Office of the Secretary of State between 1873 and 1966 and includes affidavits; appointments to state offices; audit reports; bids, claims, and contracts; board and commission meeting minutes; a compact between the governments of South Dakota and Nebraska concerning the location of the boundary line between the two; court documents; insurance policies for state buildings including the capitol; lease agreements; legislature rolls and seating arrangements; petitions concerning the organization of counties; political debate challenges; resolutions; and utility company mortgages.
