This series contains four large matted photographs of South Dakota Dams and the Becker-Hansen Building. The dams depicted are Ft. Randall Dam, Gavins Point Dam, and Big Bend Dam. The Dam photographs are in color and appear to be aerial photographs. The fourth picture is a black and white photograph of the Becker-Hansen building, taken presumably from a sidewalk on the side of the building facing the water. The building appears to read South Dakota Commission of Highways.

In 1950, federal officials condemned a stretch of land along the Missouri River to build Fort Randall Dam. As part of the condemnation proceedings, they agreed to relocate 428 graves in the cemetery of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church (also known as the White Swan Cemetery).
