Consists of one color photograph (8"x10") of the USS George Philip. This naval ship was named after Commander George Philip, Jr., who was born in Ft. Pierre, South Dakota and died during the battle for Okinawa during World War II. He was awarded the Navy Cross posthumously.The USS George Philip was the sixth ship of the Oliver Hazard Perry class of guided-missile frigates.
