Scope and Contents

This series contains two rolls of 1910 Federal Census records. These rolls only include alphetically Douglas County thru Grant County, and then Minnehaha County thru Sanborn County. Census information includes location, name, relations, personal descriptions including race/ethnicity, age, and gender, nativity such as birthplace, occupation, and education received. Notably, the text on some pages are very hard to read.

Scope and Contents This series contains the school census reports for all counties within South Dakota for 1976. These census reports for the most part contain only student names and ages but some information such as addresses, mental health and physical conditions are noted in some cases and for this reason records are restricted. This series consists of one microfilm roll containing an 1876 census of the Cheyenne River Agency. The original is the propery of the National Archives and was microfilmed at the request of the South Dakota State Historical Society in 1960.
