This folder contains Land Allotment Patent 35361 issued to Jerome Saves Life, an Indian of the Standing Rock Sioux, for the following described land: the northwest quarter of Section 16 in Township 20 North, Range 24 East of the Black Hills Meridian.

Also includes some correspondence between Will G. Robinson (South Dakota State Historical Society) and Kenneth Spire (BLM Montana Office) about the Bureau's holdings and early South Dakota land patents.

This series consists of five land grant deeds issued between 1890 and 1894 to Indians on the Yankton Sioux Reservation. Documents are signed by presidents Benjamin Harrison or Grover Cleveland and the secretaries and recorders of the General Land Office.
General Land Office - Original Land Grants, 1887 - 1902
This series consists of one folder of land grants to homesteaders showing legal land description, homestead certificate number, application number, and date of purchase. The homesteaders names are Rita Shilling, John P. Rodgers, George L. Plummer, Robert F. Jones, George E. Chapell, and Bertha M. Plummer. These records were donated to the Archives by a family member.
Records Volumes on Microfilm, 1909 - 1991
This series contains 66 rolls of 35mm microfilm containing records from the Dewey County Treasurer, Clerk of Courts, and Register of Deeds. Records include deeds, mortgages, marriage certificates, military discharge papers, oil and gas leases, patents, probates, and judgment dockets. Rolls with “C” numbers were filmed in 1959, and contain records filed at the courthouse from 1909 to 1955. The other rolls were filmed in 1991, and mostly contain records filed from 1955 to 1991.
