Dams and Becker-Hansen Building Photographs, Undated
This series contains four large matted photographs of South Dakota Dams and the Becker-Hansen Building. The dams depicted are Ft. Randall Dam, Gavins Point Dam, and Big Bend Dam. The Dam photographs are in color and appear to be aerial photographs. The fourth picture is a black and white photograph of the Becker-Hansen building, taken presumably from a sidewalk on the side of the building facing the water. The building appears to read South Dakota Commission of Highways.

This series consists of black and white prints and negatives (none are larger than 8 x 10) of Social Services staff, governor Kneip and foster families for press releases; copies of departmental press releases; copies of publications Contact and Public Welfare News; and a set of mounted transparencies which apparently were used to make a retrospective presentation on departmental programs and budget, ca. 1979. Publications are not complete runs for time period shown.
Publicity Scrapbooks, circa 1957-1971
Consists of scrapbooks containing clippings of South Dakota travel advertisements printed in various newspapers and magazines between circa 1957 and 1971. Most of the clippings also include typed labels indicating the name of the publication the advertisement was printed in, the date it was printed, the size of the advertisement, and the total cost to the Department of Highways. Also included is one volume of black and white photographs of the Mount Rushmore National Memorial.

Consists of files created by the Department of Game, Fish, and Parks staff between 1972 and 1974 pertaining to the Rapid City Flood of June 1972. Records include memoranda and correspondence, reports, inventories, surveys, and photographs documenting the department’s role in assessing damages to, and losses of, department property caused by the flood, implementing procedures for obtaining state and federal disaster assistance, and reestablishing the Cleghorn Springs Fish Hatchery.
