This series contains affidavits, evidence, and petitions filed with the South Dakota State Legislature and Supreme Court concerning the investigation of Circuit Court Judge John F. Hughes in Fort Pierre between 1922 and 1923. According to the petitions, Judge Hughes was accused of “misdeeds and misconduct” and “failure to do his duty as required of him by law.”
