This series contains the case files of individuals who received assistance from the Works Progress Administration program in different counties throughout South Dakota. Buffalo, Clay, Mcpherson, Meade, Miner and Minnehaha County are accounted for within this series. Records are arranged alphabetically by county. There is an index for these counties at the back of the box which is not restricted.

This series contains a copy of the “Documentation of the Danish Brick Barn and the Log Cabin” by Jim Stone. This report was commissioned by the Clay County Historic Preservation Commission with funds from the State Historic Preservation Office. The report includes a narrative history, photographs, floor plans and drawings of a clay brick barn on the Calle Nissen Johnsen homestead in Meckling Township, Clay County.

This series contains digital photographs, copies of structure reports, and correspondence related to SHPO Project No. 180406004F (Clay County Bridge no. 14-075-051). The bridge was scheduled to be replaced, and these photographs were commissioned by the South Dakota Department of Transportation as part of a Section 106 mitigation agreement with the State Historic Preservation Office. Johnson Engineering Co. of Yankton, SD conducted the research and took the photographs.
